PAINT / VARNISH / POWDER COATING STRIPPER
FOR FERROUS METALS
FOR A VARIETY OF REASONS, IT MAY BECOME NECESSARY TO REPAINT A METAL COMPONENT, PRIOR TO SUCH REPAINTING JOB, THE EXISTING PAINT COATING HAS TO BE STRIPPED FROM THE COMPONENT. A LABORIOUS JOB INDEED; BUT, NOT WHEN YOU HAVE PAINT STRIPPER CLOSE AT HAND. PAINT STRIPPER WILL REMOVE DRIED POWDER COATINGS / LIQUID PAINT FILMS GENERALLY IN JUST ABOUT 3 TO 5 MINUTES’ DIP DURATION. SOME COMPONENTS LIKE PAINT HOOKS WHICH HAVE THICK DRIED FILM COATINGS MAY NEED MORE THAN FIVE MINUTES’ DIP DURATION.
PAINT STRIPPER is a very effective chemical for stripping cured paint films, whether it be liquid paint or powder coatings. PAINT STRIPPER may be used by Dip or Brush Method.
DIP PROCESS: If used by Dip process, there is increase in productivity because the components to be stripped are enveloped by PAINT STRIPPER. Normally, for components painted with liquid paints or are given one coat of powder coatings will be stripped in about 3 minutes. The timing is given only as guidance. Some components may have a thicker build up of dried-paint film. For instance, work handling equipment, like hooks etc. may have a very heavy build-up paint coating. In such cases, longer duration of dip may become necessary.
After stripping the paint film, the components should be flushed with water, then surface preparation taken up as per customer’s specification.
BRUSH METHOD: PAINT STRIPPER, when applied by brush, will take a longer time to strip off the dried paint film.
